The Central Lombok District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has showcased seized funds from corruption cases amounting to Rp 1.4 billion. The billions of rupiah were seized from auction proceeds of assets belonging to Muzakir Langkir for Rp 771 million, Fikhan Sahidu for Rp 333 million, and Abdullah for Rp 300 million.

Muzakir Langkir is a convict in the corruption case at Praya General Hospital (RSUD). Fikhan Sahidu is a convict in the corruption case of the Gunung Tunak Nature Tourism Park (TWA) road project. Meanwhile, Abdullah is a defendant in the Batujangkih Community Health Centre (Puskesmas) case.

Head of the Central Lombok Prosecutor’s Office, Putri Ayu Wulandari, stated that prosecutors are implementing an asset recovery law enforcement strategy, which involves pursuing and confiscating assets derived from corruption crimes to return them to the state.

“We want to ensure that corruption is no longer profitable for the perpetrators. To date, the Central Lombok Prosecutor’s Office has successfully secured recovery funds for state financial losses amounting to Rp 1,406,049,997,” said Putri during a press conference at her office.

Putri emphasised that the seized funds will be deposited with the state to be used for the broader interests of the public, particularly to fund various future development programmes. She assured that the entire process is conducted transparently.

“We ensure that every rupiah corrupted will return as road asphalt, school buildings, or healthcare services that benefit the people of Central Lombok,” explained Putri.
