BMKG foresees Central Java weather today, 4 March 2026, with 31 districts at risk of extreme weather due to the 90S cyclone disturbance in the southern Java Sea. Morning conditions are generally cloudy across Central Java, with several areas on the Pantura coast expected to receive light-to-moderate rain. By afternoon, evening, rainfall is forecast to intensify and become widespread across Central Java, with 31 districts experiencing extreme weather characterised by heavy rain, strong winds and lightning.

Although sea level rise (rob) has fallen from earlier levels, with a maximum height of 0.9 metres, high waves of 2.5–4 metres continue in the southern waters and 1.25–2.5 metres in the northern waters, posing risks to maritime activities, especially when winds exceed 15 knots.

“Be alert to hydrometeorological disasters such as landslides, floods and whirlwind winds, as extreme weather could affect 31 districts in Central Java,” said Agus Triyono, a forecaster at BMKG Stasiun Meteorologi Ahmad Yani Semarang, on Wednesday (4/3).

The 31 districts at risk are spread across mountainous areas, highland plains, the eastern Central Java region, the Pantura coast, and the Solo Raya area, influenced by the 90S cyclone disturbance in the southern Java Sea causing strong winds and high waves. The districts listed by Agus Triyono include Cilacap, Banyumas, Purbalingga, Banjarnegara, Kebumen, Purworejo, Wonosobo, Mungkid, Boyolali, Klaten, Sukoharjo, Wonogiri, Karanganyar, Sragen, Grobogan, Blora, Rembang, Pati, Kudus, Jepara, Temanggung, Batang, Kajen, Pemalang, Slawi, Brebes, Magelang, Surakarta, Tegal, Bumiayu and Majenang.

Meanwhile, other areas in Java are expected to receive light-to-moderate rainfall. Winds are from the west to the north at 10–30 km/h, temperatures ranging from 18–32°C, and humidity between 60–95%. BMKG Stasiun Maritim Tanjung Emas Semarang forecaster Shafira Tsanyfadhila noted that high waves accompanied by storm rain remain in the northern and southern waters, keeping navigation risks for fishing boats, barges, and cargo or passenger transport.

Although the high tide (rob) at 18:00–21:00 WIB has fallen slightly from earlier levels, flood impacts in several Pantura areas still require vigilance.
