Central Java Deputy Governor Orders Probe into SPPG Buying MBG Raw Materials Below Reference Price
Central Java Deputy Governor Taj Yasin is pushing for an investigation into the practice of purchasing raw materials below the government reference price (HAP) by Nutritional Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG). This was conveyed by Yasin after attending a coordination meeting on the absorption of local raw materials for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme at the Central Java Provincial Government Office in Semarang on Friday (19/6/2026).
During the meeting, representatives of poultry farmers complained about SPPGs buying chicken eggs below the HAP. This was deemed detrimental to farmers, especially as the price of animal feed has surged significantly.
Responding to this, Taj Yasin expressed his wish for an investigation into the matter. “We heard from farmers, egg producers, from associations and cooperatives, that there have been purchases below the government reference price. Now, this is what we must investigate,” he said.
He declined to blame any party. “The important thing is that we have a commitment from farmers and egg associations, and going forward, this should not happen again. That is what matters,” Yasin stated.
Yasin revealed that to increase the absorption of eggs and chicken meat, cooperatives, associations, and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) have agreed on the menu composition for MBG in Central Java. In a week, eggs and chicken meat will each be served twice. “Therefore, the SPPGs in Central Java must comply with this,” Yasin said.
He stressed that all SPPGs in Central Java must source MBG raw materials from local farmers and breeders, whether they are part of cooperatives or associations. “Including egg producer and chicken meat associations,” he added.
Yasin further stated that the purchase price of raw materials must also comply with the HAP. “The government reference price must be adhered to,” he said.
