Central Jakarta Commercial Court Registers 40 Objection Cases from Fintech Companies Against KPPU Decision
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Commercial Court at the Central Jakarta District Court has received and registered more than 40 objection petitions submitted by various technology-based financial service companies (fintech) against the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) Decision No. 05/KPPU-I/2025.
Spokesperson for the Central Jakarta District Court Sunoto stated that the case registration took place on Thursday (9/4) and continued until late at night, given the significant number of objecting applicants accompanied by substantial application files.
“All petitions have met the administrative requirements as stipulated in Supreme Court Regulation No. 3 of 2021 on the Procedure for Filing and Examining Objections to KPPU Decisions at the Commercial Court,” Sunoto told journalists in Jakarta on Friday.
In KPPU Decision No. 05/KPPU-I/2025, the Commission Panel declared Respondents I through XCVII guilty of violating Article 5 of Law No. 5 of 1999 on the Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unhealthy Business Competition, with the main allegation being price-fixing agreements on online loan service fees.
Thus, 97 fintech companies were found guilty of interest rate cartel practices. The businesses were proven to have collectively set interest rates that impeded healthy competition, resulting in a total fine of up to Rp755 billion.
Sunoto mentioned that the objecting applicants include PT Esta Kapital Fintek, PT Kredit Pintar Indonesia, PT Teknologi Merlin Sejahtera, PT Pindar Berbagi Bersama, PT Ammana Fintek Syariah, PT Indosaku Digital Teknologi, PT Fintek Digital Indonesia, PT Lumbung Dana Indonesia, PT Ethis Fintek Indonesia, and PT Akseleran Keuangan Inklusif Indonesia.
Additionally, there are PT Berdayakan Usaha Indonesia, PT Digital Micro Indonesia, PT Amartha Mikro Fintek, PT Julo Teknologi Finansial, PT Mapan Global Reksa, PT Info Tekno Siaga, PT Indonesia Fintopia Technology, as well as other fintech companies.
To examine and adjudicate these objection cases, he said, the Chief of the Central Jakarta District Court has appointed Chief Judge Anton Rizal Setiawan, assisted by member judges Firman Akbar and Achmad Rasyid Purba.
He emphasised that the case examinations will be conducted in accordance with Supreme Court Regulation No. 3 of 2021, with resolution timelines as set forth in the applicable regulations.
“The Central Jakarta District Court is committed to conducting case examinations professionally, transparently, and accountably, for the sake of upholding legal certainty in the field of business competition,” he stated.
