The Central Information Commission (KIP) has ensured that public information dispute resolution services will continue to operate, even though the number of commissioners has decreased to six following the resignation of KIP Vice Chairman Arya Sandhiyula. KIP Chairman Donny Yoesgiantoro stated that the commission has prepared anticipatory measures to maintain the continuity of the institution’s duties and functions, including the handling of ongoing information dispute cases.

“Following the resignation of a commissioner, our commitment as state officials is to continue performing the primary duties and functions entrusted to us. We will work professionally even though we currently consist of only six commissioners,” Donny said during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to him, KIP conducted internal communication, coordination, and consolidation before deciding to accept Arya’s resignation through a plenary meeting. “We have anticipated this. Regarding the Second Board of Commissioners, which was previously the responsibility of the Vice Chairman, there is only one remaining register, and in the plenary, we have decided on the steps that must be taken,” he added.

Meanwhile, KIP Commissioner Handoko noted that simple dispute cases will continue to be processed as usual despite the reduced number of commissioners. “For new registers involving simple cases, we can process them. However, for registers that require a lengthy process, resolution will wait until a new commissioner is appointed,” said Handoko.

KIP previously received the resignation letter from Arya Sandhiyudha on 8 May 2026. To ensure the continuity of programmes and the institution, the KIP plenary meeting appointed Regulation Commissioner Gede Narayana as the Vice Chairman of KIP to replace Arya. Donny emphasised that this decision is an organisational step to ensure that public information transparency services continue while the selection process for the next period of commissioners is underway.
