The Central Information Commission (KIP) has ensured that public\ninformation dispute resolution services will continue to operate, even\nthough the number of commissioners has decreased to six following the\nresignation of KIP Vice Chairman Arya Sandhiyula. KIP Chairman Donny\nYoesgiantoro stated that the commission has prepared anticipatory\nmeasures to maintain the continuity of the institution\u2019s duties and\nfunctions, including the handling of ongoing information dispute\ncases.<\/p>\n
\u201cFollowing the resignation of a commissioner, our commitment as state\nofficials is to continue performing the primary duties and functions\nentrusted to us. We will work professionally even though we currently\nconsist of only six commissioners,\u201d Donny said during a press conference\nin Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
According to him, KIP conducted internal communication, coordination,\nand consolidation before deciding to accept Arya\u2019s resignation through a\nplenary meeting. \u201cWe have anticipated this. Regarding the Second Board\nof Commissioners, which was previously the responsibility of the Vice\nChairman, there is only one remaining register, and in the plenary, we\nhave decided on the steps that must be taken,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, KIP Commissioner Handoko noted that simple dispute cases\nwill continue to be processed as usual despite the reduced number of\ncommissioners. \u201cFor new registers involving simple cases, we can process\nthem. However, for registers that require a lengthy process, resolution\nwill wait until a new commissioner is appointed,\u201d said Handoko.<\/p>\n
KIP previously received the resignation letter from Arya Sandhiyudha\non 8 May 2026. To ensure the continuity of programmes and the\ninstitution, the KIP plenary meeting appointed Regulation Commissioner\nGede Narayana as the Vice Chairman of KIP to replace Arya.
