Celebrating Labour Day, IWIP Appreciates 519 Best Employees
PT IWIP has once again commemorated International Labour Day on 1 May 2026 by awarding hundreds of employees as Best Employee 2026. This is the company’s appreciation for the dedication and performance of employees throughout 2025.
At this year’s IWIP Awards, awards were given to 519 employees, consisting of 465 male workers and 54 female workers. Compared to the previous year, the number of Best Employee recipients increased by 43 people. In addition, there are 8 employees who have again received similar awards this year.
IWIP’s HRD General Manager, Roslina Sangaji, in her speech, stated that Labour Day is a moment to reaffirm the importance of every worker’s role in building and developing the company, industry, and national economy.
“IWIP interprets Labour Day by holding the IWIP Awards as a moment where every employee’s work is appreciated and recognised. Behind IWIP’s current achievements, there is extraordinary hard work and commitment from all employees,” said Roslina, quoted on Tuesday (5/5/2026).
She added that it is not easy to work under pressure, targets, and challenges that must be faced. However, everyone has been able to endure and overcome them with full spirit. “Today is our day, a day to appreciate every effort and extraordinary work that we have done,” she added.
Roslina also appreciated and thanked the central government, province, district, and surrounding villages in the industrial area for their ongoing support, synergy, and good collaboration.
“We also express appreciation to all trade unions that are strategic partners of the company in building open communication, maintaining a balance between employee and company rights and obligations, and together creating a conducive work environment, harmonious, fair, and productive industrial relations,” she said.
She hopes that this Labour Day commemoration can strengthen solidarity and partnerships between workers, trade unions, government, and entrepreneurs, in a joyful, orderly, safe, and harmonious manner.
Attending the Mayday commemoration in Tanjung Ulie were North Maluku Governor Sherly Tjoanda, Central Halmahera Regent Ikram M Sangadji, East Halmahera Regent Ubaid Yakub, Deputy Regent of Central Halmahera Ahlan Djumadil, Central Halmahera DPRD Chairman Zulkifli Hi Bayan, Head of the Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office of North Maluku, as well as several heads of OPD in Central Halmahera and East Halmahera, and also chairmen and officials of Trade Unions in North Maluku, Central Halmahera, or the Weda Bay Project.
North Maluku Governor Sherly Tjoanda, in her speech, appreciated the company for providing space and comfort for workers. Hopefully, it will always be well maintained. She advised workers to always improve their quality, capacity, and personal integrity.
“For industry players, profit is not everything. A strong company is one that humanises workers because workers are future investments that need to be protected by employers,” she said.
She also conveyed a message to industry players to prioritise humanitarian values, commit to making North Maluku a comfortable place for workers, ensure healthy industry growth, and enable the government to be present fairly.
One of the Best Employee recipients, representing the External Relations Department, Yulianto Em, felt grateful and proud for the trust in receiving that predicate.
“This is all inseparable from the upbringing and teachings of my parents, and support from my beloved wife, about the importance of maintaining moral values and behaviour in working,” he said.
Anto, his familiar name, admitted that the achievement as the best employee is not the result of his own hard work, but rather the support and extraordinary collaboration from colleagues and leaders.
“Let us continue to bring creative ideas to unleash the best potential in this company. One person’s success is a victory for the entire team. Remember, hard work is the foundation, never stop trying new things,” he said enthusiastically.
Having joined since 2022, Anto said this award proves that every employee’s dedication and integrity is never overlooked by management. “May the company’s core values continue to be the compass in every decision. So that we remain the best for the industry in the future,” he said.
This hope aligns with PT IWIP’s commitment to continuously improve the economic welfare of the community since operating in August 2018 until now.
The presence of PT IWIP has employed more than 81,000 workers and helped minimise unemployment as well as encourage North Maluku to become a region with the highest economic growth in Indonesia.
