Cause of teenagers mischief

Cause of teenagers mischief

From Pikiran Rakyat

I am an organization instructor at a government-recognized
private school in Bandung. The high school is not big and there
are not many students. Despite this, it has carved itself a name
with organizing instruction courses like mine.

About four years ago, when I was still a second grader at the
institution I am now chairman of, there was another organization
which held a camping excursion without informing the school
first. The organization has often done this.

All high school organizations were disappointed that this
happened because all camping activities were banned afterwards.
From then on, only annual camping outings organized by the school
were held. This caused several problems:

1. The organization no longer achieved much.

2. Activity proposals made at the last minute interfered
with bookings to far away places.

3. Little student interest in joining the organization which
led to the formation of groups of rioting students, gangs of
girls, etc.

Since camping activities were banned, student mischief has
increased. Police interference and checks have become a
familiar sight.

The revival of camping activities has been tried by several
parties, organization representatives, OSIS and teachers, but
they drew no response from the principal or the association's
chairman.

I, therefore, am requesting that the education and culture
ministry settle the matter.

I am also appealing to parents to have their children join
the school organization. Student organizations are an answer
to the problem of student mischief.
