Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force reveals role of Meno Kogoya KKB member in Yahukimo
Jayapura—The Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force 2026 has revealed the involvement of arrested KKB member Meno Kogoya in Dekai, Yahukimo Regency, Papua’s highlands, in multiple violent offences.
On Monday, Kaops of the Peace Operation Task Force Brigadier General Pol Faizal Rahmadani stated that Meno Kogoya, arrested on 26 February, was involved in numerous violent crime incidents.
From investigation and development results, Meno Kogoya was involved in the murder of two gold miners on 20 September 2025, shooting of an armoured Hilux vehicle on 22 September 2025, shooting of a white Avanza on 29 December 2025, and shooting of a Hercules aircraft on 14 January.
In addition to Meno Kogoya, three other perpetrators have been identified and linked to various offences, including Kotor Payage, alias Kotoran Giban, whose case is currently being handled by Papua Regional Police.
KKB member Kotor Payage is suspected of involvement in shooting a white Strada vehicle in March 2024, shooting of Sergeant Segar Mulyana on 16 June 2025, shooting of a white Avanza on 29 December 2025, shooting of a Hercules aircraft at Nop Goliat Dekai Airport on 14 January, and shooting of a box truck at Kilometre 7 Logpon on 30 January.
KKB member Enage Heluka is suspected of involvement in recording a video statement following a shooting on 12 February, whilst Homi Heluka is recorded as involved in the burning of a police vehicle on Statistik Street in 2023, a murder at Kali Silet on 11 February 2024, and shooting of a truck driver on Logpon Street on 12 February.
“The Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force will continue to enforce the law firmly and proportionally against every armed perpetrator of violence threatening security stability in the land of Papua,” said Brigadier General Pol Faizal.
