Cap Go Meh Festival in Singkawang 2026: What's On?

The Cap Go Meh Festival in Singkawang, West Kalimantan, runs from 28 February 2026 to 4 March 2026. The celebrations include tatung warding-off evil rituals at several vihara temples, a lantern parade, and culminate with a city-wide tatung parade for Cap Go Meh. The tatung parade is marked as a symbol of warding off misfortune and prayers for safety. To secure a seat in the grandstand for the peak celebration, tickets start at Rp 250,000.
