Cap Go Meh Festival in Glodok Today: Traffic Management and Parking Arrangements
JAKARTA — Jakarta’s Cap Go Meh festival celebration is being held in the Glodok Chinatown area, Tamansari, West Jakarta today, Tuesday, 3 March 2026.
The event, centred at Pancoran Chinatown Point Mall, features an UMKM bazaar, traditional Ondel-ondel performances, lion and dragon dances, Tanjidor music, and stilt-walking attractions.
In anticipation of potential congestion, the Jakarta Transportation Authority (Dishub) has implemented traffic management measures around the Glodok Pancoran area. Syafrin Liputo, Head of the Jakarta Transportation Authority, explained that these measures are designed to ensure smooth mobility for both festival attendees and those passing through Glodok.
“Today there is the Cap Go Meh celebration at Pancoran Chinatown Point Mall, which is divided into two sessions: 10.00-14.00 WIB and 16.00-18.00 WIB,” said Syafrin in an official statement.
For motorists travelling from Jalan Gajah Mada towards Jalan Pintu Kecil, they can use Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan, turn left towards Pasar Asemka, and then turn right to Jalan Pintu Kecil. If this route experiences congestion, drivers can turn around at Jalan Hayam Wuruk, enter Jalan Labu, continue to Jalan Mangga Besar Satu and Jalan Jembatan Batu until reaching Jalan Asemka. An alternative route involves Jalan Kemurnian IV, turning onto Jalan Kemenangan Raya and Jalan Kemenangan III, then heading to Jalan Toko Tiga before arriving at Jalan Pintu Kecil.
For traffic heading towards Tambora, vehicles can use Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan, turn onto Jalan Asemka, and proceed to Pasar Pagi Flyover towards Jalan KH Moh Mansyur in Tambora.
For residents, employees, and tenants of apartments along Jalan Pancoran, Syafrin assured that mobility would not be disrupted and access to the Chinatown area remains available through Gang Gloria. “Access remains open via Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan to Gang Gloria, then into Pancoran Chinatown Point Mall,” he stated.
To accommodate the increased volume of festival visitors, the Jakarta Transportation Authority has established five official parking locations around the Glodok area. Syafrin stated that the total parking capacity exceeds 5,000 vehicles and is sufficient to support residents wishing to attend the festival.
