Candidates for the House
Candidates for the House
From Merdeka
Golkar has proposed a list of candidates for the House of Representatives (DPR) in which 30 are relatives of high officials. Their numbers are in the higher bracket of the list so they stand a greater chance to be elected to the House.
I urge Golkar not to propose candidates of high officials' families, because according to our observation and experience, most of them will not dare to voice the aspirations of the people. If they want to improve government agencies, the situation is more difficult if the persons to be corrected are their own relatives.
Consequently, our House of Representatives would not be able to express the interests of the people. It is also not unlikely they will make use of their position for certain interests.
Golkar should delete the names of candidates related to officials, because it may reduce the support of Golkar voters.
