Cancellation of Major Attack on Iran and Accusations of Donald Trump's Intrigue
Iran has denied any talks with the United States (US) regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Authorities in Tehran stated that US President Donald Trump’s remarks on postponing attacks on Iran’s power plants and energy facilities are merely intrigue and an effort to normalise the global market following the surge in world oil prices due to tight restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran accuses Trump’s statements of being a new ploy to continue attacks on Iran.
“There is no dialogue between Tehran and Washington,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated to Mehr News Agency, as quoted by RT News, on Monday (23/3/2026). Iran’s Foreign Ministry said that Tehran has a clear position in the war being waged by the US alongside its Zionist ally Israel.
“For all enemy demands to reduce tensions, we have a clear position that we are not the party that started this war. And all these demands should be redirected to Washington,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry statement said, as quoted by RT News. Anadolu Agency also reported statements from Tehran authorities denying any dialogue with the US. Iran accuses Trump of dragging out time with statements to ease market turmoil caused by the energy crisis resulting from Zionist-US aggression against Iran.
“Iran states that Trump’s statement is part of efforts to lower energy prices and to buy time to continue implementing its military plans,” Anadolu wrote. Meanwhile, as quoted from Al Jazeera, Tehran reaffirmed its rejection of all talks with the US and assured that there has never been any dialogue regarding the current situation with Donald Trump. “Iran’s Foreign Ministry denies and states there is no dialogue between Tehran and Washington,” Al Jazeera reported.
