Canadian PM does not rule out military involvement in the Middle East
Ottawa (ANTARA) - Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, on Wednesday (4/3), said he would not “categorically rule out” the possibility of Canadian military participation in the ongoing Middle East conflict. According to Xinhua citing local media, Carney made the statement at a joint press conference with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese during his visit to Australia. When asked whether he could guarantee with certainty that Canada would not become militarily involved, Carney said that it could not be ruled out. “We will support our allies when it makes sense. We will always defend Canadian citizens,” he said. In a statement released earlier, Carney expressed regret over the “failure of the international order” and “urged all parties, including the United States and Israel, to respect the rules of international engagement”.
