In an official statement received in Jakarta on Thursday, Cabinet Secretary Teddy explained that the total value of business agreements gathered from both countries reached USD 33.89 billion, equivalent to Rp575 trillion.
“From Japan, business commitments recorded amount to USD 23.63 billion or equivalent to Rp401.7 trillion, while from the Republic of Korea, it reaches USD 10.26 billion or equivalent to Rp174 trillion. Thus, the overall total reaches USD 33.89 billion or around Rp575 trillion,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.
These achievements, he said, demonstrate the high level of trust from global investors in the direction of Indonesia’s economic policies under President Prabowo’s leadership, particularly in promoting industrial downstreaming, strengthening energy resilience, and developing strategic national sectors.
He noted that President Prabowo’s direct involvement in dialogues with business actors was a key factor in realising these agreements.
“The President did not merely attend symbolically, but actively listened, responded quickly, and provided solutions as well as direct instructions on various inputs from the business world. This is what has strengthened investor confidence,” he explained.
The Cabinet Secretary also assured that the government will oversee all these commitments to ensure they are quickly realised and deliver tangible impacts on national economic growth, job creation, and improved public welfare.
Previously, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that President Prabowo Subianto’s state visit to South Korea brought significant results in strengthening the economic sector, with the signing of several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between business actors from both countries valued at USD 10.2 billion.
Airlangga explained that the cooperation covers various strategic sectors, including energy and green transition, such as solar power, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and renewable energy. In addition, the cooperation also includes the industrial and manufacturing sectors such as steel, batteries, and eco-friendly transportation.
