Cabinet Secretary Teddy Reveals Eid Holiday Allowance for Civil Servants and Military Personnel to Be Disbursed in Phases from 26 February, 13th Month Salary in June
Jakarta – Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya announced that the government has implemented an economic stimulus package for Eid 1447 Hijriah on Tuesday (3 March 2026).
One of the key measures is the holiday allowance (THR) for civil servants, military and police personnel, and pensioners, which is provided in full at 100 per cent.
This THR has already been disbursed in phases since 26 February 2026.
“It has already begun disbursing in phases since 26 February 2026. THR is different from the 13th month salary, which will only be disbursed at the earliest in June,” said the Cabinet Secretary, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat’s press statement on Tuesday.
The THR is provided to both central and regional civil servants.
“2.4 million central civil servants, military and police personnel receiving Rp 22.2 trillion; 4.3 million regional civil servants receiving Rp 20.2 trillion; and 3.8 million pensioners receiving Rp 12.7 trillion,” he stated.
He explained that this policy aims to maintain consumer purchasing power and ensure the momentum of economic growth remains stable ahead of the Eid festivities.
Accordingly, the government has emphasised the obligation for private sector employers to pay THR in full and on time.
According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy, the THR for 26.5 million private sector workers must be received no later than 7 days before Eid and cannot be paid in instalments.
Additionally, the government has coordinated with ride-hailing and delivery application companies such as Gojek, Grab, Maxim, and inDrive to provide special Eid bonuses (BHR) for online motorcycle taxi drivers and couriers.
Approximately Rp 220 billion has been committed for approximately 850,000 driver partners.
“Disbursement will be expedited, between 14 and 7 days before Eid,” he stated.
As a complementary measure, the government will also distribute food assistance comprising 10 kilogrammes of rice and 2 litres of cooking oil to 35.04 million families.
“Work from anywhere (WFA) arrangements will apply to civil servants and private sector workers on 16, 17, 25, 26, and 27 March 2026 to provide greater flexibility in mobility,” he added.
