Cabinet Secretary Teddy denies rumours of impending chaos in Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya has denied rumours claiming that Indonesia will experience chaos or unrest in the near future. “So, a while ago there was an issue suggesting that Indonesia would soon face chaos. First, I apologise, but I must correct this; it is a mistaken narrative. There is no chaos. Everything is under control,” Teddy stated at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Friday. According to Teddy, national stability is clearly evident amid a global situation filled with pressures, including the conflict in the Middle East region, which is impacting the energy sector in various countries. He cited President Prabowo Subianto’s decision not to raise the prices of subsidised fuel (BBM), even as many countries face energy price hikes and fuel supply difficulties. “Amid global conflicts and the impact in the Middle East, the war in the Middle East, many countries are raising fuel prices and facing fuel shortages, but President Prabowo has decided not to increase subsidised fuel prices at all. That is a fact,” he explained. Based on economic data, Teddy noted that the public’s purchasing power remains maintained and shows an optimistic trend. Furthermore, Teddy stated that national stability is also reflected in the smooth and secure implementation of two Eid periods during President Prabowo’s administration. He urged the public not to be easily influenced by baseless narratives and to have faith in the safe and controlled national condition. “So, the public should not worry,” Teddy added.
