President Prabowo Subianto attended the Japan-Indonesia Business Forum in Tokyo during his official visit to Japan. During the business session, several business cooperation agreements between the two countries were signed, valued at Rp 380 trillion.

“From noon until afternoon today, there was a business forum. The essence of the business forum is the cooperation between Indonesia and Japan, as well as investments from the Japanese government and private sector to Indonesia amounting to approximately Rp 380 trillion,” said Teddy to reporters in Tokyo on Monday (30/3/2026).

Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani stated that this cooperation agreement with Japan is one of the largest ever undertaken. According to him, the investment value reaches USD 23.3 billion or Rp 380 trillion.

“The point is, this proves that international confidence, in this case from the Japanese Government and Japanese businesspeople, in Indonesia remains strong, committed, and even the projects that will soon be implemented are perhaps one of the largest to be carried out soon,” said Rosan.

“Indeed, as stated by the Cabinet Secretary, it’s approximately 23.3 billion US dollars,” he added.

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said the investment value with Japan is substantial in the energy sector. Of the total investment value, USD 20.9 billion constitutes investment in the energy sector.

“Following President Prabowo’s instructions, I was tasked with two things during the visit to Japan. First, to ensure the acceleration of investments in energy transition, and second, regarding the impact of the Masela Block,” said Bahlil.

“Following the President’s instructions in 2025, we held intensive meetings and, alhamdulillah, the total project is now complete at 20.9 billion US dollars,” he continued.
