C. Kalimantan, Jakarta cooperate

JAKARTA (JP): Governor Surjadi Soedirdja and Central
Kalimantan Governor Warsito Rasman yesterday signed a cooperation
agreement aimed at resolving development problems.

Under the agreement both provinces will work together to deal
with various problems, ranging from population, social welfare,
forestry, industry to immigration.

Surjadi said that Jakarta will participate in helping Central
Kalimantan deal with human resources problems through training
programs and send skilled workers through transmigration
programs.

Warsito said that his province is rich in natural resources
but its population of 1.3 million is too small for such a large
province, which is ranked the third largest in Indonesia. (yns)
