BYOND Super App Users by BSI Surge 197% Since Launch

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The super app owned by PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BRIS), BYOND by BSI, has recorded a 197% growth in users since its launch in November 2024. By the end of last year, the number of app users exceeded 6 million.

In addition to BYOND, BSI is still activating BSI Mobile, the mobile banking app that was available previously. As of December 2025, the number of BSI mobile banking users has surpassed 9 million, with more than 3 million being BSI Mobile users.

BSI President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo stated that digital transformation has proven effective in improving the company’s business performance. “Digitalisation serves as an entry gate to introduce BSI products and services in an easy, secure, and inclusive manner, one of which is through BYOND,” he said in an official statement on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

The growth in BYOND users is driven by BSI’s digital transformation through the development of adaptive innovative features and products. One of them is the bullion bank service in the form of Gold Savings that can be accessed via BYOND with affordable denominations starting from Rp50,000. This innovation has also contributed to the increase in Gold Savings users to more than 530,000 customers, or a 417% year-on-year (YoY) growth. In addition to e-gold services, BSI continues to develop features within the app, including in the hajj and umrah ecosystem.

Furthermore, BSI will continue to strengthen digital transformation in 2026 through enhancements in technological capabilities, service quality, and expansion of the digital ecosystem. This strategy is aimed at sustainably increasing the number of users, transaction frequency, and transaction value, while reinforcing BSI’s role in delivering adaptive sharia financial solutions.

Currently, BSI has a complete and integrated e-channel ecosystem, including BSI Call 14040, around 6,000 ATMs/CRMs, BYOND, BEWIZE for institutional cash management, BSI Net, the BSI Agent network which has reached more than 126,000 agents across Indonesia, and remittance services in various countries.

Through BYOND, customers can access various services conveniently, from account opening, gold investment, financing, to social and spiritual features such as ZISWAF, mosque locations, and qibla direction.

In addition, the hajj savings account opening service with an initial deposit of Rp100,000 is one of the popular features. In the last year, the number of hajj savings users through BYOND increased 108% (YoY) to around 380,000 customers. These various innovations have also driven an increase in BYOND transactions to more than 730 million transactions, up 52% (YoY), with a transaction value exceeding around Rp820 trillion or an increase of 48% annually.

Anggoro added that in 2026, BSI is optimistic about achieving more than 10 million mobile banking users. In line with the vision of becoming The Best Digital Sharia Bank in the World, BSI continues to strengthen its digital capabilities through the development of various platforms, such as mobile banking (BYOND and BSI Mobile), internet banking (BSI Net), BSI Merchant App, Banking as a Service (BaaS), Open API, and Cash Management System (BEWIZE).
