Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Chinese automotive manufacturer BYD has once again leaked details about its latest model, the Seal 08, the flagship of the Ocean 8 line. Reported by Carnewschina on Tuesday local time, the information was revealed through promotional images and official clips released by the company ahead of its launch event on 5 March. The Seal 08’s design adopts BYD’s latest Ocean Aesthetic 2.0 design language, featuring a low front profile, slender LED lamps, and a curved daytime running light (DRL). Unlike the Ocean-S concept car, which used camera mirrors and rear-hinged doors, the production version Seal 08 will use conventional side mirrors and semi-concealed door handles. The rear of the car is equipped with a full-length LED light bar with a wavy pattern giving it a distinctive look. BYD also integrates the second-generation Blade battery (Blade 2.0), which can add up to 400 kilometres of range in five minutes of charging. The top variant is claimed to offer more than 1,000 kilometres of range according to the CLTC testing cycle. The DiSus-C system for intelligent damper control is also noted as part of the suspension features. In the size and range comparison table published, the Seal 08 is estimated to be about 5,040 mm long, 1,960 mm wide, 1,460 mm tall, and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm, with a CLTC range above 1,000 km. The official global launch on 5 March 2026 is expected to also showcase BYD’s latest technology and features, including the battery, fast charging, and advanced driving assistance systems.
