Business Literacy and Capital Assistance: Ministry of Creative Economy and BSI Effort to Revive Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Aceh Tamiang
The Ministry of Creative Economy, through its Directorate of Development of Financing Access, Financing and Investment, conducted a Creative Economy Business Literacy activity in conjunction with Post-Disaster Recovery in Aceh Tamiang District on Friday, 6 March 2026.
The Ministry of Creative Economy, in collaboration with Bank Syariah Indonesia, is accelerating the economic recovery of flood-affected communities through the “Creative Economy Business Literacy Programme in the Context of Post-Disaster Recovery.” The activity, held on Friday, 6 March 2026 at Best Kopi venue, engaged 50 creative economy entrepreneurs and was accompanied by the distribution of business capital assistance and food packages to participants.
The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, emphasised that the government is present directly to assist communities affected by the disaster. “This is the President’s directive to go directly, listen, and assist communities affected by disaster, particularly in Aceh,” Teuku Riefky stated.
The activity aimed to equip business operators with skills in financial management, business management strengthening, and financing access so they can resume production and accelerate local economic recovery following the disaster.
Following this directive, the Deputy for Strategic Development of Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, went directly to Aceh Tamiang and expressed condolences over the flooding disaster, which occurred on a larger scale than previously. “If this is a manifestation of the ministry’s presence and commitment to jointly struggle to recover from disaster, on this occasion there is not only material assistance but equally important is the knowledge and motivation that participants will gain,” Cecep explained.
Recognition was also expressed by the Head of the Department of Tourism, Creative Economy, Youth and Sports of Aceh Tamiang, Muhammad Farij. “The Ministry of Creative Economy has provided significant attention in Aceh, such as motivational assistance and equipment in the form of stoves for culinary entrepreneurs some time ago. Following the flood, the ministry has returned with motivation and funding,” Farij said.
He also appreciated BSI’s support and expressed hope that such empowerment programmes would continue, including through expanded access to people’s business credit (KUR) financing.
From the banking sector, BSI’s Area Micro & Pawning Manager, Jasrun, conveyed BSI’s commitment in supporting flood-affected customers. “BSI’s commitment, which has been proactively supporting customers since the flooding disaster occurred on 26 November, and the bank has provided relaxation in the form of payment deferral for three months until January, adjusted to the condition of each customer,” Jasrun said.
He added that BSI would evaluate this policy and is prepared to extend the relaxation period if needed so that business operators have space to formulate new strategies and recover.
The business literacy activity featured three speakers: Director of Development of Financing Access, Financing and Investment at the Ministry of Creative Economy Anggara Hayun Anujuprana with material on “Introduction to Business Literacy”, Assistant Deputy for Partnership and Supply Chain of Micro Enterprises at the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Pristiyanto who presented “Market Access and Support through PLUT Programme”, and Jasrun from BSI regarding Islamic banking support for creative economy entrepreneurs.
As part of post-disaster economic recovery, business capital assistance valued at Rp125 million for 50 creative economy entrepreneurs as well as food packages were distributed symbolically by representatives of the ministry, local government, and BSI. This collaboration is expected to serve as an initial stimulus to restart the production wheels of creative economy enterprises in Aceh Tamiang.
