JAKARTA (JP): Dow Jones Asia Dialogues of Hong Kong began its Boardroom Briefings and Senior Executive Interchange Series here yesterday, bringing in Harvard Business School teacher Michael E. Porter to participate in a live discussion on competitive strategy.
Some 30 senior business executives, including Ciputra, the chairman of the Ciputra Group, and Fadel Mohammad of PT Bukaka, took part in the dialog.
Dow Jones, in cooperation with the Prasetio Executive Development Center, will proceed the series of dialogs here once a month, presenting other business experts such as John Kao and Gary Hamel of Harvard University, Ricardo Semler of the Brazilian Marine Machinery Manufacturer, James Champy, a leading U.S. strategist on management and information technology, Nicholas Negroponte of the Berkeley University of California, Lester Thurow of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Noel Tichy of the University of Michigan Business School.
Similar dialogs will also be held in Manila, Bangkok and Singapore, while a presentation on the Vanguard Series will be held in Bali in early September.

The Prasetio center's executive director, Rodolfo C. Balmater, said that the link-up with Dow Jones Asia Dialogues is aimed to strengthen and compliment the center's mission to promote leadership skills and strategic thinking, to enhance Asian leadership qualities and managerial excellence. (kod)
