Bus operators snub authority

JAKARTA (JP): Head of the Jakarta office of the transportation
ministry, A. Karim Tj., expressed concern on Tuesday over the
small number of bus companies who responded to the city
administration's invitation to a meeting.

"Of the 117 inter-city bus companies invited to a meeting to
discuss the implementation of Idul Fitri transportation today,
only 13 showed up," he said.

Their failure to attend the meeting also showed their
disregard for Director General of Land Transportation Soejono's
efforts to solve the transportation problem during the Idul Fitri
holidays, Karim told Antara. (yns)
