Bus driver uses screwdriver to kill
The city police have arrested the driver of a 10-seat city minibus along with his assistant for allegedly stabbing to death a 32-year-old man in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta.
Head of the South Jakarta police precinct Lt. Col. Silvanus Julian Wenas said on Wednesday that the victim, identified as Usman, was apparently stabbed with a screwdriver by M. Amin, 22 and his henchman, Ashari, 21.
Wenas quoted several witnesses as saying that the trouble began around 1 p.m. on Wednesday when Usman drove his car too close to the minibus.
Amin reacted by speeding up and pushing Usman's vehicle onto a nearby farm next to Jl. Raya Cireundeuh. He then stabbed Usman with the screwdriver.
An hour later, the two thugs were nabbed by Ciputat police.
"We've yet to arrive at a final conclusion about who killed Usman although we have information that Amin was the one who wielded the deadly screwdriver," Wenas said. (bsr)
