Bulog's 59th Anniversary: CEO Has Big Dreams
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Perum Bulog’s President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani has revealed the grand vision for the institution he leads during the commemoration of Bulog’s 59th anniversary. Moving forward, Bulog is targeted not only to serve as a national logistics distributor but also to become a “logistics orchestrator” at the international level.
According to Rizal, this transformation marks a new direction for Bulog following the achievement of the highest food stocks in the company’s history.
“Our hope going forward, in line with Bulog’s vision, is that Bulog will not only be a participant in national logistics distribution but, in the future, as a national logistics orchestrator, and even an international logistics orchestrator. This is our vision for the future,” Rizal said when met at Bulog’s Head Office in Jakarta on Monday (11/5/2026).
He also stated that Bulog’s greatest achievement over nearly six decades of existence has occurred this year. According to him, the government rice stocks currently held by Bulog are the highest in history.
“Over 59 years since Bulog’s establishment until today, the highest achievement is today,” he said.
“This is the achievement of Bulog’s stocks reaching 5.3 million tonnes. This is an extraordinary and proud accomplishment. This is not just Bulog’s work, but our collective effort,” he continued.
Rizal noted that this achievement involved many parties, from farmers, rice millers, local governments, to TNI and Police apparatus.
“Starting from the farmers, the nation’s heroes, then the producers especially our milling and contract manufacturing partners, then Bulog colleagues, field extension officers, TNI and Police friends, that now Bulog’s warehouses are truly full and we have achieved food self-sufficiency,” he said.
On the other hand, Rizal said Bulog continues to carry out its function of stabilising food prices, both at the farmer and consumer levels. He mentioned that the purchase price of unmilled rice at the farmer level refers to the presidential instruction of Rp6,500 per kilogram (kg).
Meanwhile, the highest retail price (HET) for medium rice is set at Rp12,500 per kg and for premium rice Rp14,900 per kg.
“So Bulog also maintains price stabilisation, starting from the purchase price of unmilled rice in the fields, which is in accordance with the Presidential Instruction of Rp6,500 per kg, and sales also in accordance with the HET, where medium rice is Rp12,500 and premium rice is Rp14,900 (per kg). This includes Minyakita at Rp15,700 and corn at Rp5,400 per kg,” he concluded.
