As part of its commitment to public information openness, Bulog is opening access for the public to directly view the condition of rice stocks in warehouses. Jakarta (ANTARA) - Perum Bulog’s President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani invites the public to directly check rice stocks in warehouses as a form of information openness while ensuring that national food availability remains secure and maintained. “As part of our commitment to public information openness, Bulog is opening space for the public to directly see the condition of rice stocks in warehouses,” said Rizal in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday. He emphasised that this step is expected to strengthen public trust that government rice reserves (CBP) are managed professionally, transparently, and accountably, and are ready to be distributed evenly throughout Indonesia. Bulog’s absorption target this year is 4 million tons of rice equivalent, as an effort to maintain the stability of national supply and food reserves. This target is larger than the previous year’s 3 million tons. In line with the high absorption realisation since the beginning of 2026, Bulog’s warehouse occupancy rate has experienced a significant increase. Bulog currently manages 1,540 owned warehouses with a total real capacity of 3,061,484 tons, which has been optimised to support CBP storage. To anticipate the increase in stock volume, Bulog is taking strategic steps by adding storage capacity through the utilisation of filial warehouses (non-Bulog). As of now, added Rizal, 1,254 filial warehouses with a real capacity of 2,686,215 tons have been used to ensure all stocks are stored properly, safely, and evenly distributed across various regions. He stated that the optimal warehouse occupancy reflects the success of the government’s assignment in absorbing domestic production while strengthening national food security and ensuring the fulfilment of the community’s basic needs. Previously, President Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Jaya, conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) at the Bulog Danurejo Warehouse Complex in Magelang Regency, Central Java, on Saturday (18/4). The inspection was carried out to ensure the availability and smooth distribution of national food reserves. “The President wants to directly ensure that our food reserves, especially rice, are in a safe condition and ready to be distributed to the public,” said Teddy.
