Bulog CEO affirms national rice stock is strong to face Eid al-Adha
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Perum Bulog’s President Director, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, has affirmed that the national rice reserve stock is in a strong and sufficient condition to meet public needs ahead of Eid al-Adha 2026, while also safeguarding food supply stability and prices.
“Bulog not only ensures stock availability but also guarantees the quality of rice distributed to the public. This is our commitment to providing the best service,” said the Bulog CEO when confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He conveyed that previously, his office had received a working visit from the Chair of DPR RI’s Commission III, Habiburokhman, at the DKI Jakarta & Banten Regional Office, followed by a direct inspection of the Bulog Sunter warehouse in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.
The visit, conducted on Monday (4/5), aimed to verify the actual condition of the rice stock managed by Bulog, which exceeds 5 million tonnes, as part of efforts to maintain national food security.
“The inspection was carried out comprehensively on warehouse capacity, rice quality, and distribution readiness to meet public needs,” he stated.
Furthermore, Rizal said that the DPR RI Commission III delegation also directly reviewed one of Bulog’s strategic business units, which plays a crucial role in managing rice stock and availability, from processing to packaging.
During the visit, the use of modern technology in Bulog’s Rice Processing Centre (SPB) machines was demonstrated, which can enhance efficiency and maintain high-quality rice before distribution to the public.
Rizal emphasised that the application of technology is an important part of Bulog’s transformation to strengthen national food security.
“Bulog guarantees the quality of rice distributed to the public through the use of modern technology such as Rice to Rice,” said Rizal.
Furthermore, Rizal added that synergy with various stakeholders, including DPR RI, is an important part of strengthening the national food security system.
“This demonstrates Bulog’s transparency and accountability in ensuring that government rice reserves are in a safe, high-quality, and controlled condition,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Chair of DPR RI’s Commission III, Habiburokhman, affirmed that the current national rice stock is in a very adequate condition, even exceeding 5 million tonnes, indicating that Indonesia is in a state of rice self-sufficiency and will continue to strengthen this achievement.
He also emphasised that field conditions show Bulog’s warehouses are fully stocked, including the use of additional warehouses that are also in optimal condition.
“Thus, public rice needs are ensured to be safe and sufficient, in line with Bulog’s hard work in maintaining national food supply stability,” said Habiburokhman.
