JAKARTA (JP): Chief of City Security Office A.F. Lapian said
all city security officers will now be equipped with bullet proof
vest because of riskier duties they are now facing.

Lapian said that since the number of the vests is only 295
their distribution will be prioritized to officers having
dangerous duties. He did not give details.

Currently, the number of the city security officers totals
643, Lapian said, adding that his office still needs 332 more
officers.

He also said that out of the 643 officers, 11 officers are
women. "We need more women to do tasks such as raids on
prostitution areas," Lapian added. (mas)
