The combined search and rescue team has recovered one more victim dead in the search operation for the flash flood victims in Banjar Village, Banjar District, Buleleng Regency, Bali. The victim was found on the third day of SAR operations on Sunday evening (8 March 2026).

Kadek Donny Indrawan, Coordinator of the Buleleng SAR Post, said the search for the missing victim had continued since morning, with teams divided across four search points. ‘The search divisions are split into four points,’ Donny said.

He explained that at 08:30 WIT the marine SAR team began patrolling using a rubber boat. Four personnel from the Buleleng SAR Post together with Balawista swept the waters from Banjar Beach toward the west.

Meanwhile, a rubber boat belonging to Polair Polres Buleleng with three personnel conducted searches to the north. Elsewhere, the combined SAR elements swept along the Banjar River toward the sea and around the area where the first victim was found.

Heavy equipment was also deployed to lift large debris carried by the flash flood. At around 11:40 WIT, the marine SAR team returned to Banjar Beach but had not located the victim.

Search operations resumed at 14:00 WIT with a search of the waters toward the west by the Buleleng SAR Post. Subsequently, at 15:07 WIT, the Polair rubber boat again carried out searches to the east.

‘The search in the waters located the target at about 15:42 WIT,’ Donny said.

The victim was found dead. The victim was a boy wearing a blue T-shirt and was identified as Kadek Wahyu (12).

The body was found in the waters off Desa Dencarik, around 3.5 kilometres from the victim’s home. It was then evacuated and taken to RSUD Buleleng.

Earlier, during two days of searching, the combined SAR team had found two other victims who died: Dewa Ketut Adi Suarjana (55) and Komang Suci (44).

The day-three SAR operation involved various agencies, including Basarnas, TNI, Polri, BPBD Buleleng, PMI, Balawista, volunteers and local communities.

Following an evaluation or debriefing held at 17:30 WIT, authorities confirmed the SAR operation would resume on Monday (9 March 2026) morning.
