BOGOR REGENCY — A combined team responded to flooding along Bukit Sentul Road, Cijayanti Village, Babakanmadang Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, West Java, which serves as a route to the Hambalang area, on Tuesday (10 March 2026). The flooding resulted from intense heavy rainfall that swept the region throughout the afternoon, causing the Cipaeh River to overflow and inundate the road surface with water depths of approximately 40 centimetres.

M. Adam Hamdani, Head of Emergency Response and Logistics at the Bogor Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), stated that rapid response teams were immediately deployed upon receiving reports at 15:49 Western Indonesian Time. “The BPBD Bogor Regency rapid response team immediately moved to the location to conduct a rapid assessment and field response after receiving reports of flooding along Bukit Sentul Road,” said Adam.

He explained that the flooding was temporary, triggered by the Cipaeh River’s overflow due to its inability to accommodate water discharge during prolonged heavy rainfall. According to Adam, the water inundation affected Bukit Sentul Road, which is one of the access routes to the Hambalang area in Babakan Madang Subdistrict.

The route is known to be frequently used by President Prabowo Subianto’s motorcade when travelling to and from his residence in Hambalang. “Water accumulation on the road reached approximately 40 centimetres, but there were no casualties or residents requiring evacuation,” he said.

In responding to the incident, BPBD Bogor Regency deployed the Rapid Response Team, which coordinated with several field units. The combined team involved in the response included the Cijayanti Village Military Support Officer, Bogor Regency Fire and Rescue Service, Babakan Madang Subdistrict Civil Police, Cijayanti Village Emergency Response Team, and local village officials.

In addition to conducting rapid assessments, personnel also provided disaster education and warnings to the community to increase vigilance against potential flooding during high rainfall. Adam added that the flooding gradually receded following monitoring and response efforts at the location.

“The water has now receded and Bukit Sentul Road is now passable again for both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles,” he said.

He further noted that relevant agencies were also present at the location to conduct further evaluation of the river conditions, which were assessed as no longer able to accommodate water discharge during heavy rainfall.
