Building Managers Begin Transition to Integrated Digital Systems

Building and area management is beginning to shift from manual processes and the use of separate applications towards integrated digital systems. This change is driven by the need for operational efficiency, transparency, and data-driven decision-making.

Angel Tri Widiyanti, Chief Corporate Services Officer (CCSO) of Proapps Indonesia, stated that the digitalisation of property management must address actual operational needs in the field.

“Digitalisation in property management is not enough to simply move administrative processes into a digital system. Technology must be able to respond to the operational requirements that occur on the ground,” said Angel during the Indonesia Property Management Association (IPMA) Seminar Workshop, themed ‘Sustainable Building Management Transformation’, held at Menara 165, South Jakarta, on Saturday (12/9).

During the event, Proapps introduced a property management platform that integrates various operational activities into a single system. The platform covers tenant data management, billing and payments, work requests, work permits, fit-out permits, facility reservations, visitor management, goods and parcel tracking, asset management, inspections, utility recording, HRIS, and accounting.

Angel noted that integrated systems can reduce a building manager’s reliance on manual reports. “Decision-making no longer relies solely on manual reports but can be supported by operational data presented within a single ecosystem,” she said.

According to Angel, the demand for property management technology is increasing alongside the growing operational complexity of apartments, office buildings, commercial areas, and mixed-use projects.

“Technology can be used to accelerate work processes, reduce repetitive administrative activities, increase data accuracy, and expand management’s visibility into building operational conditions,” she added.

Proapps aims for its platform to be utilised across the apartment, office building, commercial property, mixed-use development, and estate management segments.

The IPMA seminar also discussed the theme ‘From Waste Energy to Business Value’, highlighting efforts by building managers to increase energy efficiency and optimise resource management to create business value.
