Budi Acid to build bioethanol plant
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Publicly-listed tapioca producer PT Budi Acid Jaya Tbk plans to build a bioethanol plant with a production capacity of 75,000 kiloliters in Lampung province at a cost of US$43 million.
"Work on the construction of the plant will begin this year and the plant is projected to start commercial production in 2010," Budi Acid Deputy President Director Sudarmo Tasmin said on Monday.
He said the company also would soon build eight biogas power plants with a combined capacity of 25 megawatts in Way Abung, Lampung at a total cost of US$32.5 million.
He said US$28 million of the funds needed to build the US$43 bioethanol plant would originate from local banks and the rest from the company`s internal cash. "We have received commitment from Bank Mandiri."
The company was operating a biogas power plant with a capacity of 6 megawatts, he said.(*)
