JAKARTA — Entering the 2025–2029 period, PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, or BTN, no longer wishes to be known solely as a housing loan provider, but rather as a financial partner present at every stage of Indonesian family life.

This business transformation forms the core of BTN’s new vision.

BTN’s Chief Operating Officer, I Nyoman Sugiri Yasa, emphasised that changing the bank’s image is an absolute priority amid increasingly intense banking competition.

“Going forward, we want to change the perception that BTN is capable of delivering full banking services, not just housing finance,” said Nyoman during the BTN Journalism and Photography Awards Talk Show in Jakarta on Friday (13 March 2026).

Simply put, BTN recognises that when someone purchases a home, their financial needs do not cease once the credit agreement is completed.

New homeowners invariably require funds for renovations, furnishings, vehicles, and future investments. This is where BTN enters through cross-selling strategies.

Products such as payroll services, credit cards, Light Credit (KRING) for renovations, and working capital financing have now become key tools to deepen penetration into customer wallets.

This system centralises consumer credit processing to ensure greater standardisation and digital integration. The result? Mortgage processing becomes faster, more transparent, and more accurate.

BTN continues to execute its branch rejuvenation programme. Throughout 2025, BTN has opened 20 new branches and relocated dozens of others to strategic locations such as Pondok Indah and Central Park with more modern concepts.

Moreover, the presence of 24 BTN Digital Stores in shopping centres across Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang (Jabodetabek) through to Surabaya demonstrates BTN’s desire to be closer to urban lifestyle preferences.

These digital outlets are distinctive because they continue to be supported by superstaff ready to provide personalised guidance to customers.

In response to signals from Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, BTN’s Chief Executive Officer Nixon Napitupulu did not hide his bank’s interest.
