PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk recorded a 22.6% year-on-year growth in net profit for the first quarter of 2026. This achievement was supported by various transformation measures, innovations, and solid government backing for the national housing finance industry. BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu stated that this success is inseparable from the government’s support for the people, particularly the lower-middle class. In line with this, BTN continues to pursue its noble purpose of helping society own homes by disbursing Home Ownership Loans (KPR) for 6 million units since 1976 up to early April 2026, amounting to Rp530 trillion. “From these 6 million homes, if each houses 4 people, a total of 24 million people can ultimately own decent housing. We are grateful for the government’s support, which positions the housing sector as a national priority programme that is pro-people, serving as an important foundation in driving improvements in the quality of life for society,” Nixon said during the Q1 2026 Performance Disclosure Press Conference at Menara BTN, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 15 April 2026. “For BTN, this not only strengthens sustainable business performance in line with good corporate governance (GCG) principles but also drives us to further solidify our role as a strategic partner to the government, especially in meeting the needs for decent housing for the people,” he added. Nixon detailed that the housing sector is capital-intensive and requires local labour, from developers to builders. Moreover, 90% of the materials for building homes come from local products. Additionally, each home sold generates state revenue in the form of taxes. “The national housing sector can create job opportunities for 12.5 million people across related sectors, and every additional capital injection of Rp1 trillion in this industry will add 8,000 jobs,” Nixon explained. For the first quarter of 2026, BTN recorded total credit disbursement of Rp400.63 trillion, up 10.3% year-on-year from Rp363.11 trillion. Of this total, in the subsidised KPR segment, BTN has disbursed Rp193.55 trillion, up 7.7% year-on-year from Rp179.70 trillion in the same period last year. For the non-subsidised KPR segment, the credit position reached Rp112.56 trillion in Q1 2026, up 5.4% year-on-year from Rp106.81 trillion.
