BTN housing credit disbursement reaches 5.97 million units since 1976-2025
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has disbursed 5.97 million housing credit units worth Rp555.11 trillion to Indonesian families from 1976 to December 2025, with the majority channelled to the subsidised mortgage (KPR subsidi) segment.
BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday that BTN is a national bank with a long history and strategic contribution to housing development.
BTN was reborn as a national bank on 9 February 1950. Its strategic role was further strengthened when BTN disbursed Indonesia's first home ownership credit (KPR) in 1976.
"Since then, housing finance has become the company's DNA," said Nixon.
Subsidised mortgage disbursements totalled 4.4 million units worth Rp300.99 trillion. The breakdown comprises 4.06 million conventional subsidised mortgage units worth Rp258.27 trillion and 338,097 sharia-based subsidised mortgage units with a ceiling of Rp42.72 trillion.
In the non-subsidised segment, BTN has disbursed 1.3 million housing units worth Rp218.57 trillion. This consists of 1.18 million conventional non-subsidised mortgage units worth Rp191.46 trillion and 125,410 sharia-based non-subsidised mortgage units worth Rp27.1 trillion.
Beyond home purchases, BTN also provides home-collateralised credit (KAR) and home construction credit (KBR), which reached 262,876 units worth Rp35.5 trillion.
The company noted that this achievement further affirms its role in supporting home ownership for the Indonesian public.
Chairman of the Central Board of Real Estate Indonesia (DPP REI) Joko Suranto said that BTN has become the main pillar of national housing finance.
Over 76 years, BTN has been assessed as consistently serving the public in realising their dream homes — not only for consumers but also for housing provider businesses.
"As a leading bank in the housing industry, BTN has served the public in realising their dream homes, including providing financing to housing providers," he said.
Joko observed that BTN's contribution is highly tangible in supporting the property sector ecosystem. Sustained financing support keeps the housing industry moving and has an impact on the national economy.
Furthermore, BTN's transformation in improving service quality has also been viewed positively. These steps are believed to strengthen BTN's future role whilst driving a greater contribution to the national economy.
REI also expressed appreciation for BTN's long journey as it turns 76 years old.
"Happy 76th anniversary. May BTN continue to advance, continue to contribute to the public, and to this nation in providing housing for the people," said Joko.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Housing and Settlement Developers Association (Apersi) Junaidi Abdillah added that BTN's role is increasingly crucial in supporting the government's three million homes programme.
The majority of subsidised housing finance still relies on BTN, both for consumers and developers.
"The role of banking is vital — not only as a financing provider but also in helping developers maintain cash flow to ensure business sustainability," said Junaidi.
