BSN Focuses on Developing Urban Ecosystem, Here's the Strategy
PT Bank Syariah Nasional (Bank BSN) is accelerating its business expansion to broaden access to sharia-compliant financial services for the public. One of its initiatives is the inauguration of a new relocated branch office in the strategic Serpong area, South Tangerang, Banten, on Wednesday last week.
Bank BSN’s President Director, Alex Sofjan Noor, stated that the relocation of this office, which spans 1,752 square metres, is a response to the increasingly complex banking service needs in a region with rapid economic growth.
This strategic step aims to accelerate financing distribution while strengthening the area’s position as a promising investment destination in the Jabodetabek region.
“Bank BSN is present in South Tangerang City, which is also one of the hearts of economic growth centres in Jabodetabek, to provide ease of access for customers,” said Alex, quoted from his statement on Thursday, 30 April 2025.
Nationally, Bank BSN’s assets as of March 2026 have reached approximately Rp76.2 trillion, serving more than 1.34 million customers across Indonesia.
The relocation of the branch in Serpong, South Tangerang, serves as a strong signal of the company’s readiness to face market challenges and capture growth opportunities in the sharia financing sector.
In line with the company’s vision to continuously enhance financial inclusion, Bank BSN has set its focus on three main business pillars: subsidized mortgage distribution, UMKM development through digital integration, and consumer product innovation.
For housing, Alex explained, Bank BSN targets the distribution of 73,700 subsidized mortgage units nationally, with the Tangerang and surrounding areas serving as major contributors due to the solid developer ecosystem (REI, APERSI, HIMPERRA).
Bank BSN is now accelerating banking digitalisation through the Bale Syariah application. To date, the platform has recorded 1.4 million users with a transaction volume of Rp2.7 trillion.
Alex added that the company will continue to transform towards full digital services. “In the future, customers can open deposits and conduct gold buying and pawning transactions solely through Bale Syariah without needing to visit the office. We will also develop Bale Syariah Corporate. This innovation is part of our strategy to drive credit expansion as well as operational efficiency,” added Alex.
