BSI targets over 10 million mobile banking users by 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BSI) is optimistic that the number of mobile banking users, comprising the BYOND by BSI superapp and BSI Mobile, will exceed 10 million users this year.
BSI President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo stated in Jakarta on Tuesday that this optimism is supported by an integrated digital transformation strategy across channels and ecosystems.
The company stated that it will continue to strengthen digital transformation this year through enhancements in technology capabilities, service quality, and expansion of the digital ecosystem.
This strategy is aimed at sustainably increasing the number of users, transaction frequency, and transaction value, while reinforcing BSI’s role in delivering adaptive Sharia-compliant financial solutions.
As of December 2025, BSI’s mobile banking users have reached more than 9 million, consisting of around 6 million BYOND users and more than 3 million BSI Mobile users.
BYOND is a digital banking superapp launched at the end of 2024, designed to be more modern, interactive, and targeted at contemporary financial lifestyle needs. Meanwhile, BSI Mobile is the pre-existing mobile banking application.
The company recorded that the BYOND superapp has shown significant growth and received positive responses, especially from the younger generation, with user numbers growing 197 per cent (year on year/yoy) within one year since its launch.
According to the company, BYOND user growth is driven by digital transformation through the development of adaptive innovative features and products, one of which is the bullion banking service in the form of Tabungan Emas (Gold Savings).
This innovation has also driven an increase in Tabungan Emas users to more than 530,000 customers, or a 417 per cent (yoy) growth.
In addition to the E-mas service, BSI continues to develop features within the application, including in the hajj and umrah ecosystem. In the last year, the number of hajj savings users through BYOND increased 108 per cent (yoy) to around 380,000 customers.
Anggoro stated that digital transformation has proven effective in improving the company’s business performance.
“Digitalisation serves as an entry point to introduce BSI products and services in an easy, secure, and inclusive manner, one of which is through BYOND,” he said.
The company is committed to further strengthening digital capabilities through the development of various platforms, not only mobile banking (BYOND and BSI Mobile), but also internet banking (BSI Net), BSI Merchant App, Banking as a Service (BaaS), Open API, and Cash Management System (BEWIZE), supported by enhancements in technology, products, distribution, and data analytics.
