BSI International Expo 2025 Officially Opens, Investment Minister: A Starting Point for Indonesia to Lead the Global Halal Ecosystem
Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani, has officially opened the BSI International Expo 2025.
"I hope that BSI International Expo 2025 will become a starting point towards an Indonesia that is not merely a market, but also a leader in the global halal ecosystem," said Rosan, as quoted by Antara on Friday (27/6).
He assessed that the event is of great importance as it brings together all stakeholders in the halal industry, including regulators, consumers, and micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) operators. The participation of representatives from various sectors is expected to further develop a sustainable halal ecosystem in Indonesia.
Rosan expressed his hope that Indonesia can play an active role in the industry at both regional and global levels. According to the Global Islamic Economy Indicator (GIEI), Indonesia currently ranks third behind Malaysia and Saudi Arabia in terms of halal industry development.
This, he said, represents a shared responsibility to enhance the role of the halal economic industry domestically and deliver positive contributions to Indonesian society.
"One of our shared tasks is how we can elevate the role of the halal economic industry in Indonesia — not as a supplement, but as a primary objective," said Rosan.
For this reason, continuous collaboration is required, as BSI has demonstrated by leveraging the respective roles of all stakeholders. During the event, the BKPM chief also expressed his appreciation for several innovations from BSI, such as the Gold Bank/Bullion Bank and BSI Scholarship.
"These are very positive developments and will certainly continue to be expanded going forward," he concluded.
