PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BRIS) will distribute a cash dividend for the 2025 fiscal year amounting to IDR 1.51 trillion, or the equivalent of IDR 32.81 per share. This decision was approved at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) held today, Tuesday (5/5/2026).

The dividend distribution will utilise BSI’s net profit for the 2025 fiscal year of IDR 7.56 trillion. Thus, this year’s dividend equates to 20% of the profit.

Furthermore, the meeting also agreed that 80%, or a total of IDR 6.05 trillion, will be used as retained earnings.

This amount is an increase from the dividend distribution for the 2024 fiscal year of IDR 1.05 trillion, or the equivalent of IDR 22.78 per share.

Previously, BSI had explained its policy on the size of the dividend distribution for the 2025 fiscal year. BSI’s Director of Finance & Strategy, Ade Cahyo Nugroho, stated that the sharia bank, which is only five years old, is still focused on growth and thus cannot yet implement an aggressive dividend distribution policy.

“BSI is indeed somewhat different from most banks, as BSI has just entered the growing stage. So when a company or institution like ours is in the growing stage, the dividend payout usually becomes a second priority. After discussing how aggressively BSI can grow in the future,” Cahyo said during the virtual presentation of BSI’s 2025 performance, last Friday (6/2/2026).

Therefore, if Indonesia’s largest sharia bank wishes to grow aggressively, there is a need for supporting capital. However, Cahyo stated that the dividend policy will also depend on the decisions of BSI’s shareholders, namely the government and PT Danantara Asset Management (Persero) (DAM).
