Brutal Thug Attack Goes Viral: Pregnant Woman Kicked for Recording Brawl
A violent attack allegedly carried out by a group of thugs in the Tembung Tunnel area, Jalan Baru, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, has drawn public condemnation. A pregnant woman became a victim of assault after being kicked in the stomach, whilst her husband was beaten and suffered facial injuries. The incident occurred as the victims and her husband were passing near the location where a brawl was taking place in the railway track area. Rather than receiving protection, the couple became targets of the perpetrators’ fury. According to police statements, the victim had initially stopped her vehicle near the tunnel out of fear upon seeing the brawl unfolding on the tracks. However, the couple’s presence sparked suspicion amongst the perpetrators. They suspected the victim was recording the incident and feared the footage would spread widely on social media. The head of the Mobile Investigation Unit of the Medan Police Criminal Investigation Division, First Inspector Ramadhani Bimo Setiadi, explained that one of the perpetrators admitted to kicking the victim out of fear that the brawl would go viral. ‘The perpetrator admitted to kicking the victim because he thought they were recording and would make the brawl on the tracks go viral,’ Bimo said. Not only the pregnant woman fell victim. Her husband also suffered physical violence after being repeatedly struck in the face by the perpetrators. The situation grew even more tense when another perpetrator allegedly brandished an air gun and aimed it at the couple. The act was meant to intimidate them and force the victims to leave the scene. As a result of the incident, the victims sustained trauma and injuries owing to the brutal actions of the perpetrators. After receiving a report and conducting an investigation, Medan Police officers moved swiftly to detain two individuals suspected of involvement in the assault. The two perpetrators are known by the initials Zul Yarham Lubis (46) and Julpikar Lubis (37). They were arrested along with several pieces of evidence believed to have been used during the incident. Police also seized one air gun, seven air gun canisters, and a quantity of ammunition.
