Brutal Petrol Station Robbery Gang Beat and Lock up Five Employees in Bekasi, Fleeing with 130 Million Rupiah
Bekasi Regency — A gang of robbers who conducted a violent robbery at a petrol station on Jalan Raya Babelan, Babelan District, Bekasi Regency, is being pursued by police.
The perpetrators successfully seized cash worth 130 million rupiah. This was revealed by Bekasi Regency Police Chief Komisaris Besar Polisi Sumarni on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
“We are continuing our investigation and pursuing the perpetrators involved in this incident,” she said.
She stated that officers who received the report immediately proceeded to the scene to conduct a crime scene investigation and collect evidence, whilst also gathering statements from witnesses.
“We also examined closed-circuit television footage from around the location to identify the perpetrators. The victims were also questioned to assist with further investigation,” she said.
Based on victim testimony corroborated by physical evidence, a gang of four robbers arrived at the scene on Tuesday, 10 March 2026, at 03:30 Western Indonesia Time, when the area was relatively quiet.
Upon arrival, the perpetrators immediately threatened the staff using what appeared to be a replica pistol. Five employees became victims of assault and unlawful imprisonment by the robbery gang.
Without hesitation, the gang proceeded with their crime by beating the employees and locking them in a room. One victim attempted to resist and sustained injuries.
“Victim M (62) sustained injuries to his left hand after resisting the perpetrators. Another victim B (49) was also targeted with violence, struck by kicks and punches from the perpetrators,” she said.
Meanwhile, three other employees—A (24), M (44) and H (53)—also suffered mistreatment. Their heads were covered with blankets whilst their hands were tied using cable ties, duct tape and raffia rope.
“The victims were restrained and imprisoned to prevent them from resisting whilst the perpetrators carried out their crime,” she said.
After rendering the employees helpless, the perpetrators freely broke into the safe containing revenue from fuel sales and successfully escaped with 130 million rupiah in cash before fleeing the scene.
