Brunei-Cambodia flights soon
PHNOM PENH (AP): Regular commercial flights will begin soon
between Brunei and Cambodia under an agreement reached during
Prime Minister Hun Sen's visit to Brunei.
Cabinet Minister Sok An made the announcement at Pochentong
airport Monday when Hun Sen returned from a six-day visit to
Brunei and the Philippines.
Sok An told reporters that the details of the flights have to
be worked out. He didn't say if the national airlines of both
countries will fly to the two capitals, Phnom Penh and Bandar
Seri Begawan.
There are direct flights between Phnom Penh and the capitals
of all countries in the 10-nation Association of Southeast Asian
Nations except Brunei, the Philippines and Burma.
In Brunei, Hun Sen and his delegation also visited oil and gas
industry facilities. The delegation asked Brunei to provide
training for Cambodian officials working in the industry.
Cambodia hopes to exploit potential natural gas and oil reserves
off its sea coast.
