British minister to visit Indonesia

JAKARTA: Lady Chalker, the British Minister for Foreign and
Commonwealth Affairs and Minister for Overseas Development will
visit Indonesia from May 22 through 26.

She will meet with Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali
Alatas, Coordinating Minister for Economy and Finance Saleh Afiff
and State Minister for National Development Planning/ Chairman of
the National Development Planning Board Ginandjar Kartasasmita.

The British embassy said yesterday Chalker will sign an 80
million pound (US$120 million) loan agreement with Alatas.

She will also visit British-funded projects in Java and
Kalimantan. (pan)
