Brimob Polda Metro Assists in Evacuating Flood Victims in Cipondoh, Tangerang

Commander of the Brimob Unit of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Henik Maryanto, stated that the personnel involved in assisting the evacuation process were the SAR team from Battalion C Pelopor of Satbrimob Polda Metro Jaya. The evacuation took place in Jalan Kampung Candulan, Kelurahan Petir.

“The presence of personnel at the disaster site is a form of the Polri’s rapid response in protecting the public and ensuring the safety of residents as the top priority,” said Henik to reporters on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

Henik mentioned that the evacuation process was carried out using rubber boats. The personnel immediately combed the flood-affected area while coordinating with the RT head and kelurahan apparatus to expedite the rescue of residents.

“This swift action ensured the evacuation proceeded in an orderly manner and comprehensively covered the affected areas,” explained Henik.

He revealed that a total of 215 residents were successfully evacuated. The affected residents were relocated to safe locations, such as Masjid Nurulbyakin, Musala Nurul Iman, and Masjid Al Wahab.

“Meanwhile, some other residents chose to stay in their homes under the supervision of officers,” clarified Henik.

He also assured that the situation on the ground was gradually under control after the team confirmed that all vulnerable points were secure. The public was urged to remain vigilant against the potential for follow-up flooding and to immediately contact the Polri emergency service at number 110 if assistance is needed.

“Synergy between officers and residents is expected to minimise impacts and maintain collective safety,” he concluded.
