JAKARTA — Banking support for housing sector financing through the Housing Credit Programme (Kredit Program Perumahan/KPP) or Housing KUR continues to increase.

Until the period of 1 January 2026–26 February 2026, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI recorded the highest national disbursement realisation with a value reaching IDR 3.42 trillion.

This figure is equivalent to more than half of the total national KPP disbursement which reached IDR 6.10 trillion.

The financing distributed by BRI reached 25,909 borrowers, comprising housing sector business operators and related SMEs.

The Director General of Urban Housing at the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Sri Haryati stated that this achievement demonstrates effective synergy between government and banking in expanding access to housing finance.

According to Sri, the active role of banking is key to increasing the absorption of the KPP programme nationally so that housing sector financing targets can be achieved.

The KPP or Housing KUR programme is intended to support business operators in the housing sector, including SME developers, contractors, and building material merchants.

Through this scheme, the government provides an interest subsidy of 5 per cent with financing ceilings up to IDR 5 billion that can be revolving up to IDR 20 billion.

The scheme is intended to strengthen the working capital of business operators in building and supplying homes.

Additionally, the programme also targets SMEs from various business sectors for the purchase, construction, or renovation of houses used as business premises.

For this segment, the interest rate is set at 6 per cent with financing ceilings up to IDR 500 million.

The Ministry of PKP considers banking support through KPP to play a role in accelerating the provision of houses whilst strengthening the business ecosystem in the housing sector, ranging from developers to the building material supply chain.
