BRI Reaches Highest Realisation, Distributing 50% of Housing KUR Financing
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) has distributed 50% of its Housing KUR (Kredit Usaha Rakyat) financing programme valued at Rp 3.42 trillion during the period of 1 January to 26 February 2026. BRI Chief Executive Hery Gunardi stated that stakeholder enthusiasm for the housing sector remained sufficiently robust to realise 50% of the allocation within just two months.
“Since half of it has already been expended, we may request an additional allocation,” Gunardi remarked to the media on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
According to Gunardi, the Housing KUR programme represents BRI’s contribution to building a comprehensive housing ecosystem. Consequently, the programme is not limited exclusively to property developers but extends to contractors and building material merchants, provided they meet the specified requirements.
BRI will also participate in the Gentengisasi (Roof Tile Standardisation) programme. Gunardi explained that BRI’s role bridges roof tile craftsmen and developers or property companies requiring substantial tile supplies for the significant volume of homes constructed annually.
“Once contracts are established between tile craftsmen and purchasers or end-users, BRI will serve as an intermediary. We already have Housing KUR financing in place. Building materials are part of the Housing KUR programme as well. If the initial batch in West Java proves successful, we can certainly expand to other regions and tile production centres throughout Indonesia,” he noted.
Gunardi stated that BRI hopes to support the gentengisasi programme in line with President Prabowo’s directive and enable more homes to utilise quality roof tiles. This initiative aligns with BRI’s core DNA of serving ordinary citizens.
“In this programme, we provide financing support,” Gunardi concluded.
National banking support for the Housing Credit Programme (KPP) or Housing KUR continues to demonstrate positive momentum. Through the period of 1 January to 26 February 2026, Bank Rakyat Indonesia is recorded as the bank with the largest nationwide KPP distribution realisation.
Of the total KPP distribution amounting to Rp 6.10 trillion, BRI realised financing of Rp 3.42 trillion to 25,909 debtors, accounting for more than half of the national debtor total.
This achievement demonstrates BRI’s significant contribution in expanding access to housing financing for the public. The KPP or Housing KUR programme is intended for SME property developers, contractors, and building material merchants with a 5 per cent interest subsidy, financing ceiling up to Rp 5 billion, and revolving capacity up to Rp 20 billion.
Additionally, the programme targets SMEs across various business sectors to purchase, construct, or renovate homes used to support business operations, with an interest rate of 6 per cent and financing ceiling up to Rp 500 million.
Housing and Spatial Planning Minister Maruarar Sirait (Ara) expressed appreciation for BRI’s efforts. According to Ara, this achievement has been reported to President Prabowo.
“We extend high appreciation to BRI for demonstrating genuine commitment in supporting the Housing Credit Programme. This highly significant realisation proves that the synergy between government and banking is operating effectively,” Ara concluded.
