BRI Operates on Limited Basis During Eid al-Fitr 2026, with 186 Branch Units Remaining Open
Jakarta — PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BRI, will operate on a limited basis during the Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday. The bank will open 186 branch units to meet customer transaction requirements.
Hakim Putratama, Director of Operations and Customer Experience at BRI, stated that the bank will operate 186 units on 18, 20, 23, and 24 March 2026 from 08:00-15:00 WIB.
However, the open BRI units will only provide account opening transactions, cash withdrawals and deposits, debit card services, e-banking registration, state revenue deposits, complaint handling, and specialist customer services from Pertamina and Jasa Raharja.
“These 186 units comprise branch offices, sub-branch offices, and cash offices. However, we cannot provide clearing services because Bank Indonesia is closed,” he stated in Jakarta on Tuesday (10 March 2026).
BRI has prepared 19,657 ATMs and CRMs, 284,670 EDC terminals, more than 1.2 million BRILink agents, and more than 4.6 million QRIS payment points to serve customers.
He assured that all digital channels will maintain their capacity and reliability by increasing technicians and spare parts inventory and monitoring machines daily.
“Of course, in the spirit of transformation, we are committed to maintaining the service level agreement for all available networks — ATMs, EDCs, and CRMs — always at above 99 percent so that errors will be minimised,” he said.
Bank BBRI has also prepared 25 trillion rupiah in cash to meet customer needs during the Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday. The cash derives from BRI’s average balance of 19.7 trillion rupiah and an additional cash requirement during the 7-day Eid holiday service closure of 5.3 trillion rupiah.
Hakim revealed that the amount of cash prepared for this year’s Eid al-Fitr is lower than in previous years because BRI is promoting digital service usage and budget efficiency.
The reduction has occurred gradually: during Eid al-Fitr 2024, BRI prepared 29 trillion rupiah for 10 business days, and during Eid al-Fitr 2025, this decreased to 27 trillion rupiah for 11 days.
“This amount decreases year on year because of the increasing number of digital banking service users. The increase in QRIS usage and the increased use of BRImo have had a remarkable impact on reducing cash requirements,” he explained.
“However, do not worry — this has been analysed thoroughly, and the adequacy of 25 trillion rupiah will more than suffice to meet customer cash needs during their travel and shopping,” Hakim assured.
