BRI Insurance pays Rp1.4 billion insurance claim for heavy equipment to a business operator

Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT BRI Asuransi Indonesia (BRI Insurance/BRINS), a subsidiary of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI), has paid a Rp1.4 billion insurance claim for heavy equipment to a customer who runs a business.

BRI Insurance’s Chief Executive, Budi Legowo, hopes the payment, made at the BRI Pinrang Branch Office in South Sulawesi, will help the customer recover quickly and resume business activities.

“We are saddened by the misfortune that befell the BRI Insurance customer. We understand that heavy equipment is not simply an asset, but a main driver of business operations,” Legowo said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The heavy equipment insured under the customer’s name, Ulfa Mutmainnah, was damaged after it slipped into a river due to ground subsidence on 1 July 2025 in Desa Tumbang Tuan, Central Kalimantan.

Parepare Marketing Representative Office (MRO) Leader Yulia Asniar said the claim payment demonstrates the insurer’s commitment to helping restore the customer’s operations.

“BRI Insurance has several flagship products to protect insured property, including coverage for damage to heavy equipment. With this claim payment, the insured’s business can recover quickly, and trust in insurance, particularly in BRI Insurance, will strengthen,” she said.

Parepare Branch Office Head Agus Setiyono appreciated BRI Insurance’s efforts to promptly complete the claim payment, noting it is very beneficial for both the customer and the company. He also stressed the importance of community risk mitigation by having loss insurance, as misfortune can occur at any time and anywhere.

Ulfa Mutmainnah, the customer, also expressed appreciation for BRIs Insurance’s service and the fast and easy claims process.

“I highly appreciate and thank BRI Insurance for paying out the insurance claim for the damage to our heavy equipment. The claims process was easy and the response quick,” she added.
