Jakarta (ANTARA) — PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the quality of the public information space through strategic collaboration with the Forum Pemimpin Redaksi (Forum Pemred) in a programme titled “Buka Puasa Bersama Pemimpin Redaksi” held at the BRILiaN Club in Jakarta on Thursday, 26 February. In the forum, BRI’s President Director Hery Gunardi outlined several strategic issues as an introduction to the discussion, ranging from the Economic Outlook to the landscape of the banking industry which presents the challenges and opportunities for the financial sector going forward. It was also announced the Company’s performance up to Q4 2025 as a result of the strategies implemented and the Company’s ability to respond to industry dynamics in a measured and sustainable manner. On the same occasion, BRI also channelled support amounting to Rp250 million to Yayasan Forum Pemred to implement the Program Jurnalisme Berkualitas, as part of its commitment to strengthening the quality and credibility of the public information space. Hery Gunardi stressed that the gathering is not only an avenue for strengthening ties, but also a strategic space to strengthen collaboration between BRI and media professionals to exchange perspectives, deepen understanding, and build increasingly open and constructive communication. “This Ramadan moment also serves as a reminder that collaboration grounded in good intent, mutual understanding, and mutual respect will strengthen shared sustainability. Through this programme, BRI hopes the synergy that has been forged can become even more solid, and that communications become increasingly aligned and constructive going forward, thereby delivering value to the institution, society, and the national economy,” said Hery. Hery added that, as a financial institution reliant on public trust, BRI upholds transparency and accountability in all its business activities. Meanwhile, Irfan Djunaidi, Secretary General of the Forum Pemimpin Redaksi, expressed appreciation for BRI’s contribution to strengthening the national media industry. He stressed that the issue of quality journalism is no longer solely about industry interests, but directly linked to economic resilience and the sovereignty of the nation’s information. “Thank you to BRI for committing to support programmes that enhance high-quality journalism. We recognise today how our information space blends high-quality content with lower-quality content. The public often struggles to distinguish true information from false. Therefore, the situation faced by the media today is not easy,” Irfan said. In line with its commitment to open public communication, BRI also presented the company’s performance up to Q4 2025 to the Editors-in-Chief. The briefing formed part of the company’s transparency in ensuring that information circulating to the public is conveyed in full. Total assets rose 7.2 percent YoY to Rp2.135 trillion. In terms of funding, third-party funds grew 7.4 percent YoY to Rp1.467 trillion. In terms of intermediation, lending grew 12.3 percent YoY to Rp1.521 trillion, with a focus on lending to the UMKM segment. “The improvement in BRI’s fundamental performance positively affected the group’s profit achievement. By the end of Q4 2025, BRI posted a net profit of Rp57.132 trillion,” Hery continued. Hery also emphasised that BRI’s commitment to energising the people’s economy goes beyond financing, but also through sustainable empowerment. By the end of 2025, BRI has nurtured more than 5,000 BRILiaN Villages, developed 42,000 business clusters through the KlasterkuHidupku programme, facilitated more than 14.9 million UMKM participants via the LinkUMKM platform, and developed 54 Rumah BUMN with more than 18,000 training sessions for UMKM in Indonesia. Hery emphasised that the collaboration between BRI and media professionals is a crucial part of building trust. “From the camaraderie and dialogue we are building today, I believe one very important thing: trust is the foundation of maintaining stability and growth. In building that trust, the role of the media is highly strategic for us all,” concluded Hery.
